The global structure of the MSZ Center of Culture incorporates the Karl Marx Palace of Culture, Children’s Center, Palace of culture in Fryazevo farm and a library.
The center of culture houses 52 amateur and folk arts groups for children and adults. Over 360 performances and music concerts are played every year by OAO MSZ amateur groups in the most famous concert and music halls of Moscow including the Kremlin Palace, Tchaikovski Concert Hall, Rossia Music Hall and Musical Comedy Theater.
The rank of “people’s” group has been conferred on 7 amateur groups, 4 children’s amateur groups have been recognized as master troupes. All of them are participating in various domestic and international festivals and contests.
There are 18 topical clubs for women, old-aged people, bibliophiles, healthy life-style fans, folk music and light music lovers opened by MSZ Center of Culture for regular visitors and guests.
Over 850 theatre performances, music concerts and dancing parties are organized by the Center of Culture every year.
International Festival of Folk Dance and Music “Podmoskovniye Vechera”
The first international festival of folk dance and music was held in Elektrostal in 1994 under the aegis of the RF Ministry of Culture, UNESCO commission, Ministry of Culture of Moscow region, Elektrostal local government and OAO “Mashinostroitelny Zavod”.
Once every two years the festival of folk dance and music organized by MSZ Center of Culture offers an enthralling sight and interesting program for town inhabitants and numerous guests.
Five festivals hosted by Elektrostal up to now have given festival guests and town inhabitants a unique opportunity to get acquainted with folk art and dance from 55 countries. Folk groups from Argentina, Bangladesh, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Mongolia, Ukraine, France, Bolivia, Zaire, Kuwait, Pakistan, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Great Britain and Ireland, USA, India and many other countries came to Elektrostal to participate in the Festival.
In 1998 the Festival of Folk Dance and Music joined the International Festival Association and was added to the international catalogue of the best festivals of the world.
Salon of Arts  The grand opening of the Salon of Arts took place in Karl Marx Palace of Culture on 26 January 1996. Over 70 performances of the best Russian singers and musicians have been hosted by the Salon of Arts during its 9-year history. Among the invited guest-performers of the salon one should note the State Russian “Vivaldi chamber orchestra” under the guidance of Svetlana Bezrukova, a national artist of the RF; chamber orchestras “Amadeus”, “Moskovskaya kamertata”, “Moskovia”, chamber ensembles “Concertino”, “Brams-trio”, etc.; national artists of the RF N. Slichenko and E. Grach, famous pianists A. Diyev, A. Lyubimov, A. Sevidov, D. Ratser, S. Tarasov; soloists of the State Bolshoi Theatre A. Eizen, V, Verestenikov, Yu. Vedeneyev, K. Serbina, O. Teryushnova. |
