In the early 60-s, using the experience of powder metallurgy gained while manufacturing nuclear fuel, OAO “Mashinostroitelny Zavod” started the production of barium-ferrite magnets, which were required for the equipment for uranium isotope separation.
At the present moment the production capacity of OAO “Mashinostroitelny Zavod” allows to manufacture over 2500 tons of strontium-ferrite magnets having different geometry and used for different purposes. The company manufactures high-energy magnets based on Ne-Fe-B alloy as well. These magnets are widely used in electronic and automative industries, machinery construction, etc. Segment-shape magnets with radial texture used for the fabrication of electric motors and starter motors are the most popular ones in the present day market.
The production of permanent magnets implemented at OAO “Mashinostroitelny Zavod” is one of the largest existing in Russia. About 50 type-sizes of magnets are in commercial production. The technology applied for magnet fabrication is based on the long experience and use state-of-the art equipment manufactured by famous European producers. Stability of the production technology assures high reproducible quality of the manufactured product. The company has been supplying magnets to the European market.
Product quality and reliability being the key components in the main production activity of OAO MSZ (nuclear fuel) have also become very important integral parameters for magnet fabrication. The fabrication of magnets has been certified according to ISO international standard of 9001 series (2000).
