Health and labor safety of the personnel are among the priorities at OAO “Mashinostroitelny Zavod”. A significant profit share is allocated by the company for the labor protection measures. Among the departments dealing with production safety and labor protection issues are the following:

• Nuclear and radiation safety laboratory;
• Technical supervision group
• Safety engineering department
• Bureau of social studies

These departments are responsible for the installation of the equipment with safety interlocks excluding the possibility of accidents and injuries during operation as well as for the development of processes and technologies helping to avoid negative impact on the human body.

Departments responsible for labor safety and protection supervise over the observance of legal or other normative acts and documentaion on labor safety and are authorized to use sanctions provided by the law against law infringers.

The company grants compensatory payments for hard work or working in dangerous or harmful conditions, the level of negative impact on the personnel health is monitored and controlled. Each individual accident in production area is subject to a thorough investigation.

In 1998 the efforts of OAO MSZ in labor safety and protection were appreciated by the certificate “For the active participation in solving labor safety issues” at the exhibition “Labor safety and Protection”.
