Occupational Health and Safety

JSC MSZ fully understands that occupational health and safety (OHS) is the system safeguarding person’s life and health in the course of employment. Therefore one of JSC MSZ’s priorities is to address OHS issues of our employees.

as well as the whole range of other services that interact with the state OHS supervision authorities.

The jurisdiction of JSC MSZ’s OHS divisions includes implementation control of safety equipment reducing the risks of personnel emergencies and accidents, mitigating the effects of harmful occupational factors through inspections during technology selection, design solution development, etc.

The services involved in OHS at the plant supervise conformance to legislative acts and other laws and regulations on OHS and have authority to impose applicable sanctions set forth by the Russian legislation against those who violate them.

We have established efficient monitoring of employees’ exposure to hazardous factors and how it affects their health.

JSC MSZ has established the OHS Management System that is being actively applied; it is aimed at implementing the OHS policy and objectives throughout JSC MSZ functions in order to safeguard person’s life, health and performance capability in the course of employment, ensuring safety of industrial processes and equipment, preventing industrial injuries and occupational illnesses, improving employees’ working conditions and safety.

The basic preventive measures are directed at preventing industrial injuries, providing employees’ OHS, mitigating the effects of harmful and hazardous occupational factors, preventing accidents, ensuring the company’s readiness to localize potential accidents and eliminate their effects. It is also important to consider the so called “human factor”. The right attitude and incentives to boost employees’ earnest responsible attitude combined with the new technical aids must secure industrial safety. This is realised through the established safety culture.

JSC MSZ’s primary strategic objective in terms of safety culture is to establish, maintain and continually improve the cultural environment ensuring that at each company’s level, from top management right down to workers, safety is seen as the non-negotiable overriding priority that determines the required behaviour in day-to-day activities.

At this time JSC MSZ employs over four thousand people, and each and every one of them at his or her workplace is responsible both for their own safety, as well safety of product users. That is why safety culture is an essential component providing efficient management of our company. At JSC MSZ OHS management system, system of personal employee’s responsibility for occupational safety, system of OHS administrative and public control as well as system of in-process monitoring of functions’ and contracted companies’ operations are based on the safety culture principles.

Our company’s employees are insured against occupational accidents. Each reported case is thoroughly investigated. Conformance to OHS requirements at JSC MSZ is ensured by personal employees’ responsibility for the task area assigned to him/her.
